Senderos de gloria (Stanley Kubrick, 1957)
In the right middle of World War I, the French Joint Chiefs of Staff entrusts the ambitious General Mireau the occupation of a German stronghold, a hill which had remained impregnable. However, the capture would end in a resounding disaster which would lead to the high command’s decision of imposing a punishment intended to be exemplary to the regiment which should have taken the post, even if it is clearly unfair.
