A new musical and coreographic proposal from the group «En clave de clot» which continues focusing on the fusion of classical music and flamenco singing and dance.

Addition and fusion of musical cultures, Arco y tacón (Bow and heel) is a real melodic festival where, different musical traditions like the chamber repertoire of European Baroque, the Spanish music of the 19th century, flamenco, tango or jazz, which seem to be so far apart,  meet and interweave. In the programme of this concert Ennio Morricone’s Original Soundtracks get along with Navajita Plateá’s Noches de Bohemia (Bohemian Nights), while La Playera of Sarasate goes to meet La Sultana of Camarón de la Isla, which blends its joy with Joseph-Hector Fiocco. Even Albéniz’s Asturias has a prominent place in this concert together with the more popular music of Augusto Algueró.

This amazing conjunction of such different music traditions is born from the meeting of a group of flamenco artists from a gypsy ethnic group from El Cabanyal neighbourhood with a couple of string musicians – violin and cello – from the Eutherpe Chamber Orchestra. An unexpectedly eurhythmic ensemble completed by the acoustic polychromy always provided by the saxo. All they together shape the ensemble En clave de clot.

Every instrument starts alone and progressively it is joined by the rest of the soloists. This makes the concert grow gradually in beat and intensity just like is usual in flamenco performances, but also in some classical pieces that will be played in this concert. The melodic harmony of Baroque music and modern music for chamber, like Pachelbel’s Canon or Albinoni’s Adagio, is particularly - and surprisingly – well complemented by the typical tunes of the flamenco singing and touch. The rhythmic counterpoint of the cajón (drum box) matches all the ensemble and flamenco dance completes a unique and absolutely unprecedented performance which is difficult to find elsewhere. This pairing of flamenco and classical music is a feast for senses where to unleash the emotions and let the feelings flow. Raw materials of every music.

The tickets will be handed out an hour before the beginning of the concert. We recommend to pick them up sufficiently in advance.
