The Friendly Museums programme aims to foster inclusion in the Diputació de Valencia’s museums and cultural services. This project, which still remains in an experimental stage, is conceived to fight social exclusion, marginalization and inequality and aims to promote the cohesion of citizens through a universal access to culture.
In these Diputació de Valencia Friendly Museums we are working so that any person, regardless their personal traits, could be able to visit our spaces, enjoy our exhibitions and take part in the cultural activities that we propose. Furthermore, we are working to ensure the cultural inclusion of people with specific needs, such as people with Down-syndrome or with Asperger’s, among others.
Friendly Museums is specially conceived to deal with social diversity and tackle access to culture from a position as cross-inclusive as possible. Their main goals are the attention to socially vulnerable groups and the offer of cultural activities adapted to all the needs.
This programme is opened to citizen participation, so we invite associations and federations working in inclusion to bond closer with our museums and cooperate in the realization of new programmes adapted to the needs of every vulnerable group.
